Formation for Jira
Governance for your Jira fields, forms, and workflows¶
Real governance for your Jira and Jira Service Management fields and forms — no scripts, no workflow hacks. You define rules once, and Formation enforces them live on the form and on the underlying data, even on API and automation writes.

What Formation does¶
Formation gives Jira and Jira Service Management admins no-code governance over their fields, forms, and workflow transitions. Define a rule once and Formation enforces it on every issue and request form — and, when you choose Form + data, a backend backstop re-checks and corrects values even on API and automation writes, so a rule can't be bypassed.
Formation comes in two editions: Standard covers day-to-day field, form, and workflow governance; Advanced adds continuous compliance, configuration versioning, and verifiable configuration evidence.

Runs on Atlassian
Formation runs entirely on Atlassian infrastructure. There are no external services and no data egress — all configuration lives in Forge storage, alerts stay native Jira comments, and nothing ever leaves your instance.
